Mad - No. 166 April 1974

Good afternoon race fans!

You're still number one with us. And to prove it, we're re-upping American Confetti for all of you high cultured types. Now, Cracked a couple weeks ago went over big with our pub crawling mates across the pond so here's to you boys, our one fingered salute just for y'awl!

We're real popular in the UK. A few years ago when I was tooling up from London to Harrogate to visit some friends, everyone who passed us held up two fingers. I thought it meant 'V" for victory, a hold over from the war. I waved back and smiled. My buddy later explained that it wasn't as kind a gesture as I thought and that it was probably because I was driving in the fast lane. A big no-no in Europe. Passing only f&$#ing yank!

Enjoy.

Ciao - June 2, 1974 N. 22 Anno VI

Listen, Professor... No really. Listen to this radio show 'da Hui found (stole, made up, who cares?). Yeah sure, the magazines cool and all but while you're lookin' at it pretending to understand Italiano, play this faux radio show like you were buzzin' the piazza in your modified Vespa. Buonanotte!

"Una Storia Antica Dell'altro Ieri" Roughly translated, it means "An Ancient History Before Yesterday". We asked our buddy Guido over at the horse farm, what this magazine was saying. He said that the author claimed the Coupe was Italian because of the Dago front axle and the noise coming out of the exhaust. We think Guido's been in the molasses again.

Street Rodder - Volume 3 No.11 - November 1974

As part of an effort to reduce the workload and maintenence of 'da Hui's multiple related blog sites, we are consolidating them into one giant, overstuffed American Graffiti burrito. Our goal is that this tasty, and hopefully tasteful concoction will make it easier to access the publications, photos, music and general information that may be of interest to the three regular readers of this blog (Hey Ma!).

So as we bring it all to the dinner table, we're gonna start with the leftovers. It's still good and the refrigerators full, so no bitchin'. And hey, it's American Graffiti. It was old even when it was new! We'll try to do a good job. Hope you like it, but if you don't, remember, it's guaranteed. Just send your refund requests to Ants. He'll get right on it.
